Hyderabad, June 18 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Tuesday hailed the decision of AICC General Secretary and CWC Member Priyanka Gandhi to contest from the Wayanad Lok Sabha Constituency in the byelection.

This byelection is anticipated following Rahul Gandhi's resignation while retaining the Raebareli Lok Sabha Constituency, TPCC Senior Vice President G Niranjan said.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Niranjan expressed that this decision is welcomed not only by the people of Wayanad but also by the entire South India.

He predicted that Priyanka Gandhi would make history by winning the bypoll with an overwhelming majority.



The TPCC Senior Vice President praised Rahul Gandhi for his relentless efforts over the past ten years to strengthen the Congress party and the INDI alliance, by challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He highlighted Priyanka Gandhi's extensive campaign efforts across the country, which have won her significant support and left a lasting impression on the electorate.



Niranjan asserted that Priyanka Gandhi’s election to the Lok Sabha would give her an opportunity to demonstrate her capabilities as a parliamentarian.

He mentioned that the BJP was limited to 240 seats in the recently held Lok Sabha election and that Modi's apparent smile was forced and artificial.

He expressed confidence that the Congress party would return to power in future elections, emphasizing the importance of saving democracy in the country.

Niranjan urged all Congress party leaders and workers to stand united behind Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
